A roofing base sheet is the bottom waterproofing layer on a multilayer roofing membrane system. Leakbarrier glass base is a highly versatile glass fiber reinforced sheet coated with superior quality weathering grade asphalt. It is ideal for applications involving mechanical fasteners hot asphalt or cold adhesives. It has a coating layer of asphalt on each side that reacts with henry cold application cement solvents to provide excellent adhesion without decreased tensile strength.

This is asphalt enhanced with plastic or rubber polymer. Fiberglass base sheet is applied over the flat roofing deck or insulation as a base sheet by mechanical fasteners or hot asphalt before the application of build up roofing systems. It is manufactured from a tough inorganic fiberglass mat then coated on both sides with a weathering grade asphalt coating and then covered with white sand fines to prevent sticking in the roll. It is made of fiberglass or reinforced polyester or composite reinforcement and is saturated coated with modified bitumen asphalt.

There is a slight grid pattern embossed into the granules to further aid in venting latent moisture in the existing roof system or deck.
